Area of rectangle CDEF = 2 × (– 2) = – 4 m
Area of rectangle FGHI = 2×2 = 4 m
Displacement = sum of area with their sign = 8 + (– 4) + 4

Distance = sum of area with out sign = 8 + 4 + 4 = 16 m
